About me



I have had two rewarding careers, initially as an Information Technology Professional in the health sector, and then in the Social Services field as a Counsellor, Supervisor, and Manager. My career change came about due to life experiences and a wish to assist people on a more personal level.

  • Diploma in Counselling, Christchurch Polytechnic, Christchurch
  • Certificate in Professional Mentoring and Supervision, Unitec, Auckland
  • Certificate in Grief Support, Lois Tonkin, Grief Counselling and Grief Education

Experience:

  • Qualified Counsellor since 2001
  • Qualified Supervisor since 2007
  • Experience as Counsellor in organisations working with Addictions (alcohol and other drugs, gambling)
  • Experience as a Counsellor in an organisation specialising in working with Domestic Violence
  • Experience as a Client Services Manager in a Social Services Agency
  • EAP (Employee Assistance Programme) Counselling

Professional Memberships:

  • Member of New Zealand Association of Counsellors (MNZAC)
  • Accredited Clinical Supervisor, Addiction Practitioners' Assn. Aotearoa NZ (DAPAANZ)
